Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is strongly recommended but not required. If you have not taken a Medical Terminology course, then you may enroll in one of our Medical Terminology classes when available. Alternatively, you may use a medical dictionary, search engine for terms, or a Medical Terminology book, such as Ann Ehrlich’s “Medical Terminology for Health Professions”. Used Medical Terminology books are also available for purchase online and may be used with this course. Assessment: Students will be assessed through quizzes, coding assignments, practical applications, and a final exam. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion.

A CPT® Manual is strongly recommended since the American Medical Association does not allow the reproduction of this manual. If you are using an older version, please keep in mind that in 2021 and 2023, there were major changes in the way we level the Evaluation and Management services. Can I use my old Coding Manuals?
You are able to use older versions of the coding manuals; however, the course is based on the 2025 coding manuals. Please read the section above for more information on the Coding manuals.
Is this course a review of the exam only?
No. This is a complete Medical Coding course that will include practice certification exams and test taking techniques at the end of the course. You will also have Timed Assessments at certain points within the course, that will help you gauge your productivity and readiness for the timed AAPC and AHIMA certification exams.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, a 50% deposit is due at the time of registration and the remaining balance is due by the end of the first four weeks.
